Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged for launching the modern science of child eyewitness memories as well as using children who have been abused to be legal witnesses. Professor Goodman publishes widely has received many grants and has received numerous international and national prizes. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims in the justice system. She currently serves as advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She was a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
